These rondelle carving beads are made of Hackmanite stone and can be cut to form multiple facets and designs.The round approximation size of this bead is between 9 mm to 13 mm whereas its length and weight are 20 Inches / 388 carats. Each bead features a crystal clear hole with smooth edges to help protect the stringing material. Hackmanite is the light pink to pale violet variety of sodalite. It is a particularly unusual gem because it exhibits a special optical property known as "tenebrescence," a type of reversible photochromism. This feature allows the gems to temporarily change color when exposed to different light forms. The highest quality glass is used in production, which is pressed in a mold, then precisely faceted by machine and polished in a direct fire.
